Noor is second Minnesota officer to be charged over fatal encounters between 2000 and 2017

In Minnesota, 164 people died in encounters with police between 2000 and the end of 2017, and Minneapolis officer Mohamed Noor is only the second officer to be charged.

The first, St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez, was found not guilty of second-degree manslaughter in the July 2016 death of Philando Castile.
