Boosting Klobuchar
Norm Coleman is doing a big favor for Amy Klobuchar.
He is making it next to impossible for Republicans to defeat her in 2012.
Why? Because he is showing the people of Minnesota that she has been doing the work of two senators for the last three years. Norm Coleman has been too busy doing the bidding of the Republican Party.

Keep paths clean
As a senior citizen who loves to bicycle, I am disturbed when I come across broken glass on one of our lovely paths for walking and biking. Sunday's Tribune ["Conflicts sprout as metro trails grow," April 12] said new paths are being considered and I am all for that. However, in Robinson Park in Coon Rapids, I came across a stretch of path laden with glass. No one cleaned it up in a week, so today I took a brush in my bike bag and swept it clean. Please, fellow citizens, stop spoiling our beautiful paths.

Push for runoffs
Reflecting on the events of the U.S. Senate trial, I still think it would have been much easier and cost less if we had some form of runoff elections in Minnesota. Think of all the money being paid by the taxpayers for this costly trial to drag on. I encourage any state legislator reading this letter to please consider runoff balloting if and when the issue comes up during the remainder of the 2009 session.
