The entire region from the Ohio Valley through the mid-Atlantic and Northeastwill experience well above-normal temperatures through Wednesday. The reasonfor the warmth is a big dome of high pressure that is dropping anchor over thispart of the country. Unlike earlier heat waves this summer, this air mass willnot be particularly humid.Regardless, high temperatures will surge into the lower and middle 90s alongthe 1-95 corridor Monday with the heat felt at the opening round of the 2010U.S. Open at Flushing, NY. Little relief will be felt from the near record hightemperatures with average wind speeds around 5-10 mph and bright sunny skies.
Though the overnights will offer a break from the heat, the hot afternoontemperatures will continue through Wednesday.
