The big rainstorm is right on schedule. Wednesday, it moved into themid-Atlantic region, and the damp and dreary conditions will spread over NewEngland Wednesday night. The rain will be heavy at times, and the runoff willcause water to flood some low-lying areas.By Thursday morning, the storm will be pretty much over with through themid-Atlantic region. In New England, the rain will gradually taper off and endfrom south to north; however, across northern Vermont, northern New Hampshireand Maine it will rain the better part of the day.

An added problem from the storm will be high winds, especially along the NewEngland coast where gusts up to 50 mph are possible. The strong winds willcause 10- to 15-foot seas.
