Bergstrom, Therese Bernadette (Keenan) Age 83, of Prior Lake, formerly Brainerd/Baxter and Bloomington, Minnesota, passed away peacefully after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, early Saturday, February 23, 2019. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born May 12, 1935 in Minneapolis, the eldest of four children to Clement and Dorothy Keenan. Raised in south Minneapolis, a 1953 graduate of Roosevelt Senior High School and was initially employed by Honeywell until 1955. Therese met her husband-to-be, Dick Bergstrom, in 1952 and was married in 1953. Dick and Therese were married over 61 years at the time of Dick's passing in November 2014. Lived in Bloomington, Minnesota in 1955 where they raised their children. In the mid 1960's, Therese went back to work at Univac/Sperry/Rand company as a computer core memory board assembler and retired after almost 20 years. When asked what was most important to her in her life, Therese answered without hesitation; her family. She was proud of her children and later her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Therese's passions included music, theater, traveling the world, taking pictures, genealogy, writing, family visits, holidays and friends. Over the many years, Therese & Dick shared many adventures including traveling abroad and spending time at their lake home on Platte Lake, MN as well as activities at church and her community. Therese is survived by her daughter Stephanie Renslow, son, Lee (Patty) Bergstrom, grandchildren, Erin Renslow, Ben (Amber) Bergstrom, Courtney (Dillon) Naumann, Meghan (Jesse) Bastyr, great-granddaughters Rylee Bergstrom and Ricki Bastyr, great-grandson Ian Bergstrom, sister Angie Dorn, brother, Joseph Keenan, brother, Patrick (Jan) Keenan, brother-in-law, Jim (Barb) Bergstrom, brother-in-law, Chuck (Barb) Bergstrom, and many loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by husband, Dick; her parents, Clement and Dorothy Keenan, brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Alyce Rae) Bergstrom & Donald (Beverly) Bergstrom, her infant son, Paul & her son-in-law, Rick Renslow. Sincere appreciation for the wonderful staff at, Fairview/UM Cancer Care team, Mayo Clinic, Rochester and NC Little Hospice for outstanding care and support for Therese and her family while on her three year cancer journey. Celebration of life service for Therese will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, 9:30am visitation and 10am service at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408, 1-612-822-2171, luncheon and interment to follow the service at Lakewood.
