Copeland, Richard Young May 14, 1941 to April 2, 2020 Husband of Mary Joan Holtby Copeland; son of John R. and Dorothy Y. Copeland. Married on April 3, 1961 at St. Patrick's Church in Edina, MN. Father of Therese Copeland, Andrea Pollari, Mike Copeland, Cathy LaMere, Jennifer Wallner, Mark Copeland, Barb Copeland, Steve Copeland, Jim Copeland, Jeff Copeland, Matt Copeland, and Molly Copeland. Grandfather of twenty-three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Brother of John R. Copeland II, Thomas Edward Copeland and Robert Francis Copeland. Preceded in death by his parents, John R. and Dorothy Y. Copeland and grandson, Timmy LaMere. Graduate of De Lasalle High School in 1959. Worked in the wholesale grocery business for over 30 years retiring from Rainbow Foods in 2000. He was a smart businessman that was respected by peers, leaders, and sales rep throughout the industry. Following retirement, he worked fulltime supporting Mary Jo in her ministry, Sharing and Caring Hands. His children will remember his laughter, wanting the best for his kids, trips to the civic center, his pragmatic advice, his ability to talk to anyone and make them laugh, as he would say "I am strong as a bull".
