He attended 1 year each at Tusculum University in TN & UW-Whitewater before completing a Bachelor's degree in Business at UW-Stout in Menomonie, WI in 1973. C. Ray married Roberta/Bobby (Marine) of Menomonie on 10/6/73. He ran a printing press at Dunn County News and worked as a mechanic at Standard Oil before becoming a drill press operator at Doboy in Meno monie. He soon transferred into sales at Doboy/ New Richmond, WI in June of 1976 and commuted from Menomonie before moving to New Richmond in 1978. He eventually became Product Manager of the Bag Closing division at the New Richmond and Shell Lake, WI sites until his retirement in 2015 (after 39 years). C. Ray was an avid hunter; he enjoyed both bow and gun hunting, water fowl, deer, grouse, & pheasant, and loved using his jimmy-rigged Ford 8N tractor for putting in food plots on his land in Hayward and at his sister and brother-in-law's in northern Wisconsin. He was a devoted son with a gift of gab (almost sold his mother encyclo pedias once over the phone!), a nervous ordained minister for family weddings, a fun loving jokester (one never knew whether he was kidding or not) who was always looking for good deal (and buying it whether he needed it or not). He was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Faith & Hope; firstborn son Cyril Craig; both parents & sets of maternal/paternal grandparents; & numerous aunts, uncles, and relatives of the Johnson, Flannigan, and McNamara families.
