Gross, Georgene Annette "George" "Georgie" age 77, died peacefully on December 17, 2020 in the home of her youngest son in Sedona, AZ ending her courageous battle with Alzheimer's that began slowly taking her away from all who loved her years earlier. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Lola Gross and two younger brothers, Gary and Michael Gross, her nephew Jen Trieloff and her buddy, Augie. She will be deeply missed beyond measure by her children, Ted (Gail) Coulter, Catherine (Tom) Calvin, and Scott (Robin) Coulter; her grandchildren that meant the world to her, Sean (Stanzi), Spencer, and Carson Coulter; Matt (Kristen), Chris, and Grace Calvin, Claire and Chloe Coulter and her great-grandchildren Meghan, Hadley, and Jacob Coulter; Easton, Lily and Jade Calvin; her sister, Linda Gross; her brothers Greg, Mark and Brian Gross and sisters-in-laws Carol, Karen, Chris and Cindi her 10 nieces/nephews, and great nieces/nephews. Georgene was born in Abilene, TX when Lola was living on base while George was stationed overseas during World War II. After the war, they moved to Roseville, MN where she was raised along with her 6 siblings and cousins. She graduated from Ramsey High School in 1961 and attended the U of M for a year before marrying Ted Coulter in 1962. She raised her three children in Roseville, was active in her kids clubs and sports until she started working at Sears Automotive and then NCR Corporation as a single mom. In 1980, she packed up her teenage kids and moved 'Up North' to Bemidji, MN where she pitched a tent on her 40 acres and set to work to clear a place for her future home. So many adventures and major life events occurred, too many to share. The one constant was her ability to turn every challenge into a meaningful, upbeat moment that brings smiles to all who reflect on what she accomplished. She started working at Northwood Panelboard in HR prior to the plant being built. During her 28 years, she helped countless employees navigate issues and minimize stress in their lives. At her retirement in 2008, she was humbly amazed at the gratitude bestowed upon her. Georgene will be remembered for her unconditional love, stubborn independence, strength and determination, fighting for the underdog and never saying no when asked for a favor of any kind. If you were her friend, you were her friend for life. This summer, there will be a celebration of her life and love in Bemidji complete with her favorites: a bonfire, food, drink, music, laughter and friendship. Please consider a donation to your local Alzheimer's Association in her name to help bring an end to this horrible disease.
