Drury, Catherine "Cathy with a C" was lovingly embraced by Jesus on February 16, 2021, one month shy of her 100th birthday. Born a first generation American on March 23, 1921 in Holdingford, MN, Cathy was very proud of her Polish heritage. In her late teens she left the farm for Minneapolis, where she met her great love, and lifetime dance partner, John Drury. They settled in Golden Valley to raise their seven children. Their family home was always active with music, singing, dancing, eating, and lively banter. Cathy welcomed everyone, loved everyone, and fed everyone. She eventually took her passion for cooking to work catering with Town and Country and then opened her own restaurant, Dealers Choice, at the Minneapolis Auto Auction. Cathy loved hosting family gatherings, and gifting family and friends with her delicious meals and desserts. Her chicken and dumplings are legendary. Throughout her lifetime, she proudly fed thousands of people. Cathy is preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Jeri, and FDR (she thought of him as family). She is survived by her children Judith, Jill, Jackie, Dan, Jane, Jess; her 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a strong woman who rose above hardship and taught us all how to create our own destiny through love and generosity. Cathy wanted us to party, but it will have to wait. For now, just take it one day at a time, and honor Cathy by feeding someone in need.
