Michael Richard 'Mike' Sexton

Sexton, Michael "Mike" Richard of Minneapolis, MN, died on July 9, 2021. He was 77. Mike was the son of Christopher and Margaret Sexton, the 8th of 9 children and was a member of Ascension. Mike lived in Fairbanks, Alaska for 60 years. In 1971, he married Joanne Gorman Sexton. Mike was a member of Local 375 and owned and operated his own business, Universal Mechanical, for 35 years. Thereafter, Mike served as the Executive Director of the Mechanical Contractors of Fairbanks. Mike enjoyed playing golf, playing handball and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanne; his children Matt Sexton, Katie (Mark) Weisenbeck, Molly (Kris) Gowan; his grandchildren Haley and Ellie Weisenbeck; Thomas, Victoria and Annie Gowan; his sisters Betty Burnham, Peggy (Dick) Stasson and Mary Jo (John) Knabe; and his numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be on July 31st in Fairbanks. In lieu of flowers, please consider The Monroe Foundation for tuition assistance.
