Boston, Joseph G. Joe was born in Dayton, OH on January 7, 1954. He died with his devoted wife at his side on September 2, 2021 in Springhill, Florida, following a wretched battle with brain cancer. After graduating from Chaminade High School in Dayton, OH, Joe attended St. John's University in Collegeville, MN and University of Dayton in Dayton, OH, where he met "the love of his life" Pamela Gilvary Boston. They were married in 1978, lived in Eden Prairie, MN, and raised their three sons. Joe devoted his life to fund raising and community outreach, first with the National Ataxia Foundation, next the Minneapolis Jaycees, then the Children's Heart Fund, and finally for the last 27 years of his career as a vice-president at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN. He spent countless hours on many boards and advising organizations in the Minneapolis area including Twin West Chamber of Commerce, St. Therese Foundation, Hennepin County Sheriff Foundation, Pacer Center, Hope Chest, and many more. His work made the world a better place. Joe loved to interact with all types of people with humor and wit and made friends everywhere he went as his St. John's friends, grade school friends, Gulf Island friends, and Minneapolis friends can attest to. He enjoyed travel, especially on cruises and Cuba and his ancestral Budapest, Hungary. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family and incredibly dedicated to his sons, whether coaching basketball, golfing, fishing, or taking road trips around the US. Spending time at the cabin in Nisswa and sharing that with his sons and grandchildren was the absolute joy of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of quirky sayings, being "fiscally responsible," and finding the best happy hours wherever he went. He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Boston of Dayton, OH, his mother Elizabeth Drummer and step-father Donald Drummer both of Dayton, OH; father-in-law Patrick Gilvary and mother-in-law Dorothy Gilvary both of Dayton, OH; brother-in-law Sean Gilvary of Williamsburg, VA; step-brother Joseph Drummer of Columbus, OH; step-brother-in-law Vern Menker of Dayton, OH. He is survived by his wife Pamela Boston of Hudson, FL, his sons Joseph Boston (Elizabeth Holmes) of Chaska, MN; Michael Boston (Cassandra) of Hermantown, MN; Matthew Boston (Kathryn Bjorklund) of Minneapolis, MN; sisters Phyllis Watrous (James) of Philadelphia, PA; Kathleen Brown (David) of Cincinnati, OH; Joann Boston (Richard Wamsher) of Petoskey, MI; step-sisters Kathleen Menker of Dayton, OH; Julie Stafford (Robert) of Miamisburg, OH; Sally Stachler (Thomas) of Brookville, OH; step-brother Donald Drummer (Catherine) of Lewisburg, WV; step-sister-in-law Maryann Brandes of Westerville, OH; sisters-in-law Maureen Blanton (William) of Punta Gorda, FL; Kathleen Weber (John) of Mentor, OH; Shirley Gilvary of Williamsburg, VA; plus his adored grandchildren in Minnesota: Logan, Maddison, Leo, Elliana, Brooklyn, Zoey; his special friends Chris and Mike Legge.  He will be sorely missed by his many Minnesota and Ohio cousins and many nieces and nephews from around the country/world. As per Joe's request, scatterings are planned for Gulf Island in Hudson, FL this fall, on his father's grave in Dayton, OH in spring 2022, and at the lake in Nisswa, MN in June of 2022. In lieu of flowers please donate in his name to Academy of Holy Angels, 6600 Nicollet Ave S, Richfield, MN 55423; or Dr. Patrick Gilvary Fund, University of Dayton, 300 College Park, Dayton, OH 45469; or St. John's University, P.O.
