Miller, Lawrence James "Larry" 77 of Columbia Heights, MN passed February 16, 2022. After high school, Larry enlisted and served in the US Army, receiving a National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal (with 4 Bronze Service Stars); Vietnam Campaign Medal; Bronze Star Medal; 2 Overseas Bars; The Gallantry Cross (with Palm); and Good Conduct Medal. Larry graduated from college in the engineering field. He worked with his family in real estate - building and remodeling commercial and residential properties and housing developments. Larry also functioned as a realtor selling and renting the various properties. Later in life, Larry served in several conservation volunteer positions. Family was a priority and Larry made time to always attend family events. He loved the outdoors - fishing, hunting and skiing with family and friends. Larry loved playing cards, cooking and serving others. Larry's favorite place to be was with friends, family and his chocolate labs, Millie and then Mochie, "up in the woods." Larry was a favorite uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Larry was preceded in death by his father Cleo (Jack) Miller, mother Martha Miller, brothers John (Jack), and Richard, sister Joan, nephew Shaun and niece Joni. Larry is survived by seven nieces, three nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by cousins, sisters-in-law and close friend Rudy. A service will be held on Friday, March 11 at 11:30am at St. Charles Borromeo in St. Anthony with a visitation starting at 10:30am.
