Pederson, Father Duane The Right Reverend Archimandrite Age 83, of Hastings Born, September 30, 1938, in Hastings, MN. Died July 20, 2022, in Eagan, MN. A leader in the Jesus People Movement in California during the 1960s and 1970s, and editor and publisher of the Hollywood Free Paper, Father Duane began a ministry to men and women living on the streets of Hollywood, many of whom were frequently in and out of prison. Father Duane's journey would eventually lead him to the Orthodox Church, where he was ordained a priest in 1991. He continued visiting those in prison and eventually began to send his newspaper, Orthodox Christian Journey, into prisons, where it introduced many prisoners to the Orthodox Church. Father Duane was predeceased by two sisters, Janice Levering and Marjean Trebil, and his brother William Pederson. He is survived by his sister, Kay Cripe, 17 nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, and innumerable friends. Services at St. George Orthodox Church, 1250 Oakdale Avenue, West St. Paul, MN.
