After high school, Judy moved to the Twin Cities where she married John (Jack) Volinkaty in 1967. They would go on to have a son, John Volinkaty II. Judy's husband, Jack, wrote the hit song 'Satin Sheets' which went on to be #1 in 1974 and was always something of which she was incredibly proud. Jack passed away in 1992 at the age of 49 from lung cancer. She remarried to Paul Bickel in 1998 at Minnetonka Lutheran Church. Judy spent 42 years working at the University of Minnesota and was very proud of the work she did there, writing contracts for doctors in the Patents and Licensing Department. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her dogs Casey and Sadie. An avid "scrapper" and keeper of memories, Judy loved scrapbooking with her friends at various camps and events, and was the driving force behind the Anderson Family Reunion. She also donated time and money to many animal rights groups and charities. Judy was a class act. She is survived by her husband Paul Bickel, her son John Volinkaty II, brother Duane (Carol) Anderson, sister Valerie Gratzer, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mabel Anderson, husband John (Jack) Volinkaty, sisters Dolores Anderson, Phyllis Isenberg, Audrey Lindy, and Melba Eckstrand, and bothers Rodney, Dale, and James (Jimmy) Anderson. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be sent to one of the following organizations: Humane Society of Golden Valley, Gentle Giants Rescue (CA), or World Wildlife Fund.
