Julia Faye (Erbele) Betcher passed away on September 23, 2022 from complications from rheumatoid arthritis at Aurora Care of Edina. She was 68 years old. Julia was born December 10, 1953 in Wisheck, ND. to parents Viola and Arthur Erbele. In 1962 she moved to Grand Forks attending school there, graduating from Central High School in 1971 and then receiving a BS in Business degree from UND. Julia played French horn in the Central Concert Band and the Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra. She was romantically courted by John Betcher of Grand Forks and they were married in 1992. They moved to Bismarck, ND for several years and finally to Minneapolis in 1983. Julia was employed by Pennys, Target, Piper Jaffrey Hopwood, UBS and US Bank. She was a Product Manager in operating software. She retired from US Bank five years ago. Julia is survived by husband John, brother Tim and sister Lois and her cousins. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews who she loved dearly including Kristen (Keith) Grider, Denise Erbele, Sara (Duke) Doshi, Mark (Nickki) Erbele, Hannah (Nate) Sill, Andy Manske, Ian (Yeon) Van Trump, Sara Van Trump and Carmen Melore. Julia loved to travel; visits with her relatives and enjoyed trips with John to France, Spain, Italy and Mexico. She traveled in the US to New York City, San Francisco, Big Sur, the Southwest, New Orleans, Charleston and Portland, Oregon. Julia enjoyed good food, fine wine and had the Erbele sweet tooth. She was an excellent cook herself. Julia enjoyed a good competitive game of pinochle with her parents and others. Old black and white movies were one of her passions. We watched a lot of them. She was an avid sports fan and watched football, tennis and golf but her all-time favorite sport was UND Hockey. She enjoyed season tickets at the Ralph and traveled to see the team play in post season play. She loved her cat Monet. She enjoyed riding bike, cross country skiing, playing tennis and loved being in the water. Julia had a great smile, a quick wit, a good sense of humor and a warm personality. She was a very loving person. She was always the voice of reason and formed a great team with her husband John. They did everything together and John admits she was the brains of the family. Julia made friends wherever she went. To those who were fortunate to know her she enriched all of our lives and will sorely be missed. Rest in heaven my love until we meet again. A family celebration of Julia's life will be held with her family at a future date.
