Tieva, Richard Rudolph age 76, passed away on 12/8/22 from natural causes in his home in Bonita Springs, Florida. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Loraine, and his parents, Rudolph and Olga Tieva. Survived by children Michael, Matthew, and Jennifer, eleven grandchildren, four sisters; Bernita Bultena, Carole Gertgen, Dottie Dammann, Patty Haataja, and many other loving family members and close friends. Born in Wadena, Minnesota, Richard grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Henry High. He married Loraine in 1969 and lived in Golden Valley for many years. Dick founded Northland Mechanical Contractors in 1971. Dick was very thankful for all the opportunities the plumbing and pipefitting industry provided. Dick volunteered his time and expertise to industry-related boards and the Minnesota Mechanical Contractors Association. He also served as a Trustee on the Twin Cities Pipe Trades Service Association and Pension Funds for many years. In his free time, Dick enjoyed spending time with family, fishing and playing golf. As a 35 year member of Golden Valley Golf and Country Club, Dick enjoyed golfing with many lifelong friends. Dick spent his later years enjoying retirement in Bonita Springs, Florida and fishing on Lake Sylvia in Minnesota. Visitation on Tuesday 12/20 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal. Funeral service 11:00 am on Wednesday 12/21 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Rd in Golden Valley. The service will be live streamed at events.calvary.org. Visitation one hour prior and reception to follow the service. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
