Hannay, Patricia Jean age 87 of St. Louis Park, MN, formerly of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away on Friday, February 24th, 2023. Pat, as her friends knew her, lived the last three years at the Park Shore Apartments in St. Louis Park. There she was known for her daily walks, where she would stop and chat with everyone along the way and hand out candy. She was known as the "candy lady". She kept candy in her pockets and a dish of candy by the elevators on her floor. In the warmer months she loved to walk in the park behind her building and greet all the dog walkers, but mostly to pet the dogs. Pat was born on July 27th, 1935 in Grand Rapids, MN, the daughter of Mary and Michael Petroff. She lived in Bovey most of her childhood, which she liked to remind people is the home of the famous Grace portrait. She graduated from Greenway High School in 1953. Pat's primary job started in 1971 at the North Central Public Service Company in the credit department. The company was sold a few times and her last years were spent working for Minnegasco until she retired in 1997. Once retired she spent time volunteering with her townhome association and babysitting her grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting the local casinos with her friends. Pat is survived by her son Michael (Debbie Codere); daughters Vickie Powell (Mick) and Patti Campbell (Ben) and grandchildren; Grant Powell (Elizabeth), Robert Campbell and Andrew Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters; Helen O'Connor, Virginia Georgiff, Georgiana Baldino, Angeline Thomas and brothers; Pete Georgiff, Boris Georgiff, Nick Georgiff, Steve Petroff and David Petroff. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Second Hand Hounds or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A private family celebration of life for Pat will be held at a later date.
