Nelson, B. Susan our precious Susie, left us May 13, 2024 at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis after a fierce 7 month battle with acute leukemia. Susie was a passionate, creative, dynamic and adventurous soul. Her talents and interests were numerous. She was a talented seamstress and quilter who could also knit, crochet, bead and make jewelry. She often made or altered wedding dresses for family and friends alike, and consistently employed one of her many homemaking skills to complete various crafts and projects for family, friends, and even acquaintances. She loved Native American jewelry, collecting pieces throughout the country, but especially from her favorite Trading Post in Shakopee, MN. Susie loved reading, camping, hiking, and riding her motorcycle in the mountains and plains out west; she relished visiting family in Florida, Arizona and the Carolinas. Her calendar was filled with book clubs and bowling leagues. Above all else, she loved being with her family and friends. While living in Greensboro, NC, in the '80's, Susie connected with Mormon missionaries who introduced her to sign language, which led to her lifelong vocation of interpreting for the deaf and hearing impaired. Susie leaves a legacy of love and engagement in life. She was born 2/23/1955 to Rodger and Ruby Webster, both U.S. Marines stationed at Camp Le Jeune, NC. She was raised for many years in rural Arizona before moving to Roseville, MN where she met her high school sweetheart and husband of 50 years, Ed. She is survived by her husband Ed of Shakopee, MN; her son Charles (Vanessa) of Edina, MN, grandchildren Daschel, Triada and Raiden; her daughter Brigit (Jason) Sletta of St. Peter, MN, grandchildren Gage (Gracie) and Skylar Hinderscheid, and Ruby Sletta; her daughter Taylor Ebneter (Nick) of Jordan, MN, granddaughters Samantha and Josephine; and her brothers and sisters, Debbie (Alan), Rodger (Christine), Norman (Marta), Kelli (Mike), James (Cindi), Celeste (Jeff) and numerous nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the World Wildlife Fund.
