Bui, Quoc Tan of Farmington, Connecticut, aged 50, passed away in Boston, MA. on Sunday, May 26, 2024 due to complications from a clinical trial. Quoc was born in Vientiane, Loas, and grew up in Coon Rapids, MN, attending school there and excelling in academics, orchestra, gymnastics, and diving. He always had the ability to draw people close with his sunny personality and never letting a bright or humorous moment go to waste. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and St. Thomas in the Twin Cities, MN, graduating with a degree in business accounting. Later he completed an MBA through the University of Southern New Hampshire. Quoc spent most of his working career at the Hartford Insurance Company in Hartford, CT. He was dedicated to excelling in his profession and took great pride in the value he added to his work. Quoc had many interests outside of his career including photography, audio engineering, videography, and creating music. Quoc also cherished time with the ones he loved most, his friends and family, and having experiences in places of deep meaning to him. Quoc studied in Japan, and his own culture was something he grew to be enormously proud of and was dedicated to honoring. Quoc was known as the "fun Uncle," to his many nieces and nephews, that came in the form of family, in-laws, and other special young people in his life that knew him and loved him as "Uncle Quoc." "Uncle Cookie let's start the crazy fun," and so they went. Quoc was also an elite on-line car racer and was especially particular about many things, most notably, his hair, BMW 328, and 4K resolution. Quoc found peace in nature, and always strived to be around the things that brought him deeper peace. He found that in his faith, his cat Jasmine, his love for Lucia and in his friends and family. Although not an outward man of many words, he was an avid writer, where he easily expressed and demonstrated another skill he excelled in greatly. Quoc is loved and survived by his family: father, Tuat Van Bui, and mother, Ngocbich Thi Trinh, Lucia Nazzaro; sisters Uyen (Brian) Anderson and Quynh (Joe) Trueblood; brother Tybalt Bui; nephews Reed Trueblood and Soren Anderson; nieces Tess Trueblood and Silje Anderson; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many in-laws and friends who were also his family. Quoc faced extreme challenges with courage and determination and showed a strength that words could not summarize, until the very end. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday June 8th, 2024 at 1pm at First Church of West Hartford: 12 S Main Street, West Hartford CT with reception to follow.
