Susan Mary Green, of Paradise Valley, AZ and Shorewood, MN passed away on June 9, 2024 at the age of 67. Born to Arthur and Doris Trausch of Dubuque, Iowa on September 9, 1956, she graduated from Wahlert High School in 1974 and attended the College of St. Catherine's before transferring to the University of San Diego where she graduated in 1978. She began her professional career in medical research at Scripps Research where she stayed until starting a family in 1980.

Susie married Kevin Green in 1976 and they raised three children, Conor, Courtney, and Caitlin while living in San Diego, Phoenix, Denver, and finally settling in Minneapolis in 1996. Her family was the absolute center of her life and she spent countless hours shuttling her kids to swim practice and meets and volunteering at their schools. She taught her children and demonstrated through her actions to all who knew her the importance of putting others first, and could often be found volunteering for a thankless task to make someone else's life easier. In the last 10 years, Susie enthusiastically embraced her transition to "Nana" to her five grandchildren and the happiest moments of her life often found her laying on the floor with them reading books, or better yet, spending hours baiting fishhooks with worms. Susie made friends effortlessly and rarely missed any of her many golf matches, or her weekly euchre and mahjong meetups.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin, her eight siblings, and her family: Conor (Quannah) Green of Edina, MN and their children Miles and Sawyer; Courtney (Martin) Schnitzer of Graz, Austria and their son Quinn; and Caitlin (Brian) Brooke of Austin, TX and their children Arthur and Betty. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a friend to many people who valued her unassuming nature and her kindness, and a great life partner. She will be dearly missed.

A funeral mass will be held at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis on Friday, June 21st at 11am with visitation at 10am, and will be followed by an afternoon reception and celebration of her life at Interlachen Country Club in Edina. The family wishes to thank the ICU care team at Fairview Southdale Hospital, who are wonderful. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to organizations that she cared about, such as Girls on the Run, Jeremiah Program, and Stonehill Communities of Dubuque, IA.
