Felske, Valerie "Val" White 73, of Largo, FL, passed away on June 5, 2024 following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Val was born in Rochester, Minnesota and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1969. She attended Hamline University and obtained her BA in 1973. Val taught health and physical education for a few years and then went back to school and obtained her MBA from the University of Minnesota. She worked in corporate finance for the rest of her career. Val was an active member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). She served in a variety of leadership roles at IMA including past President of the Minneapolis Chapter, President of the Northern Lights Regional Council, National Vice President and a member of the Stuart Cameron McLeod leadership society. Val also enjoyed family events, sports and travel, especially annual trips to Aruba. Val was preceded in death by her mother Joanne ("Jo") Fitzpatrick (formerly White), father Frank White and stepfather Paul Fitzpatrick as well as her sisters Gail-White Lyons and Terry Snyder and her brothers Jerry, Jim and Craig Fitzpatrick. Val married Brad in 1975 and he survives her. She is also survived by her brothers Bob (Diane), Mike (Linda Weiberg) and Jeff (Kris Filstrup) Fitzpatrick; and sisters Terri Murphy, Jodi (Dick) Hodge and Sheila Haskin. Val is also survived by nieces, nephews and many great friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18 from 5 - 8 pm at the Empire Event Center attached to the Best Western Rochester, 1517 16th St. SW, Rochester, MN. A visitation and Celebration of Life event will be held on Friday, July 19 at Cascade Lake Park, Lakeside Building, 88 23rd Avenue SW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be from 10-11 am. A Celebration of Life will start at 11 am. Luncheon will follow. Interment of Ashes will be at Oakwood Cemetery, downtown location. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the cancer organization of your choice. In particular, The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research or the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) is suggested.
