Ness, Karen Kay 78, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, June 7th, while in hospice care. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 am, Thursday, June 20th, at Cornerstone Church. Flowers and condolences can be sent, care of the church, to 5000 W Broadway Ave, Crystal, MN 55429. A life-long Minnesotan, Karen was born October 30, 1945 in St. Cloud, graduated from Tech High School in 1964, married her high school sweetheart and raised two children in the home in Brooklyn Park where she lived up until her death. Karen lost her daughter, Monique, to an untimely death in 2012 at the age of 47. She is survived by her husband, Tom; son, Lance; his wife, Heidi; and their three children, Henry, Greta, and Camille. With her passing we lost, among many things, a family historian. Karen had a passion (borderline obsession) for capturing the people and moments in her life on film. In an age when it has become increasingly rare, she had prints made of every photo she took and shared them with glee. At every family gathering, the meal had to wait for Karen to "take her pictures", a habit she no doubt acquired from her Aunty Ardell. And while it will be sad this Thanksgiving, the people she knew and loved might, for the first time, get to eat while the food is still warm. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
