Cathy O'Keefe

O'Keefe, Cathy age 72, of Maple Grove, passed on June 14, 2024 in North Branch, MN. She was born September 16, 1951 in Rush City, MN to Everett and Dorothy (Michels) Nelson. Cathy graduated North Branch High School in 1969. While in school, she worked at Myrt's Dress Shop and the North Branch Golf Course. She enjoyed golfing for many years, especially with her Dad. She attended Anoka Ramsey Community College and then the Bassist Institute in Portland, OR where she graduated in 1971 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. While she did work at some higher end retail shops, most of her work life was spent with Orthopedic Consultants or Bremer Sports Medical Center. She still enjoyed looking for high end fashions at thrift stores! She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved beagles, Buster and Simon. Cathy is survived by daughter Sally O'Keefe of St. Cloud, brothers Michel (Barbara) of North Branch and Douglas (Joni Emery) of Deerwood.; aunt Della and many special cousins, nephews, nieces and good friends. Cathy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in March of 2024. Cathy and her family wish to thank the professional staff at North Memorial - Robbinsdale and especially Ecumen Hospice for their very gentle care. Cathy very much appreciated the many cards and personal messages sent during her treatments and beyond.
