Carlsen, Nancy J. of Cincinnati Ohio, formerly Oakdale a beloved mother, sister, aunt, dog- grandmother and friend passed away on Thursday, April 25th at the age of 83. Nancy was preceded in death by daughter Jennifer Carlsen and parents William and Vivian Fullar, and many pets. She is survived by daughter Judith Carlsen, brother William Fullar (Paula), Nephews Eric Fullar (Sara) and Michael Fullar (Hina). Nancy was born in Lorain, Ohio. Growing up, Nancy spent some summers on her grandfather's family farm in Jewell Ohio. She loved her extended family and the time spent there. She graduated from Amherst Senior High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts from Hiram College. Nancy was a teacher until she and her best friend, Judy Tabbert, moved to Minneapolis to be stewardesses with Northwest Airlines. She loved flying and met many life-long friends during her travels. She also met her future husband, Wayne Carlsen. Nancy was a stay-at-home mom with daughters Judith and Jenny. She was a great mom! The family lived several years on a hobby farm with horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. Nancy was an animal lover! Jenny and Nancy took up riding and showing American Saddlebred horses. Nancy documented all of Jenny's classes and participated in various American Saddlebred associations. Both Jenny and Nancy loved being a part of the American Saddlebred community. Nancy was also the manager of a Garden of Eden store. Co-workers and customers loved Nancy and she loved them. Nancy relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2007 to flee the cold Minnesota winters. She enjoyed walking two miles every day. Nancy enjoyed working at Hyde Bark and the Greatwolf Lodge souvenir shop. She also volunteered at Hoxworth Blood Center. Nancy was a very outgoing and wonderful person. She will be greatly missed. There will be a celebration of life for Nancy, Wayne, and Jenny Carlsen on June 30th at 11am at Lafayette Club 2800 Northview Road, Minnetonka Beach, MN. A service from 11am-12pm followed by refreshments.
