Schiff, Theodore "Ted" James Passed away peacefully at home with family present on Monday, December 4th, 2023. He was born on December 15th, 1933, to Abraham and Evelyn Schiff in New York City. In High School, he especially enjoyed his Spanish classes and playing drums in the High School Band. After graduating from George Washington High School, he decided to go to college in Miami since his family had often spent many vacations there. He enrolled at the University of Miami and joined the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Even though he enjoyed his freshman and sophomore years at the University of Miami, he decided to transfer to Adelphi College in Garden City, New York, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree. With Ted's engaging personality, the business world of Sales was a natural for him, which he enjoyed very much and was very successful in it. After working for a few years, he was drafted into the Army and served at Ft. Benning, Georgia. While there, he was so good at the training he received that when he had completed it, his Commanding Officer made him a "Hollywood Sergeant" and had him train new recruits and wanted him to stay in the Army. But the business world was his main interest, and he went back to being a civilian in Sales. After a few years, he was transferred to the Twin Cities where he met his future wife, Donna, when he moved into the same apartment building where she lived. She was a teacher in Edina. They became friends and after a year of spending time together, he proposed. They married in June 1975. After a year, Ted changed jobs and was transferred to St. Louis where his new job was traveling to hire and train new people in addition to selling. Donna again taught school and they lived in Chesterfield, a suburb of St. Louis. They enjoyed travelling and took vacations to many different places including Hawaii, the Caribbean islands, a cruise through the Panama Canal, and many European countries, especially Spain where Ted could speak Spanish with the people. After retiring, they decided to move back to Minnesota where they had family. They found a community in Prior Lake in a neighborhood where most of the neighbors were retired. They enjoyed the social life there, plus all of the amenities of the Twin Cities. They also enjoyed wintering in Arizona. A Celebration of Life for Ted was held at the Prior Lake VFW on December 15th which would have been his 90th birthday. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham & Evelyn Schiff, brother Milton, and nephew Bruce. He is survived by his wife Donna, sister-in-law Caryl Schiff, brother-in-law Curt & wife Bonnie, niece Kelly and husband Will, great-nieces Whitney & Aleah, nephew Colin, and sister-in-law Pat. Ted's interment will be a private graveside service for family at the Lakewood Cemetery on June 27th, 2024.
