Fourniea, Eugene Charles Passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace in St. Paul at the age of 100 years, 6 months. Born to Henry and Isabel Fourniea on December 18, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN. Gene was a lifelong resident of Minnesota. Life in Minneapolis was filled with his family of brothers, Richard and Robert; sister, Doris and his parents. He proudly served our nation during WWII in the Coast Guard/ Navy mainly in the South Pacific Area. Gene returned after deployment to Minneapolis. He was a proud member of Plumber Local #15 and the UA for 74 years. Gene met the love of his life Marion on a blind date. They were married on June 17, 1950 and just celebrated their 74th anniversary. His love of the outdoors, hunting with his family over the years. His quiet way, peaceful nature and great sense of humor was evident at the CABIN. But most of all the love of his family was his biggest priority. Gene will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marion; children, Yvonne (Joseph) Hanzlik, James (Teresa) Fourniea; daughter-in-law, Michelle (Weed) Fourniea, Terri (Mark) Stadheim, Gayle Fourniea. Grandchildren, Joseph (Amanda) Hanzlik, Nicholas (Alyssa) Hanzlik, David (Katy) Hanzlik, Melissa (Billy) Aukland, Ross (Elena) Stadheim, Alex (Susan) Stadheim, Grant (Emily) Stadheim, Nathan (fiancé, Missy) Stadheim, Ryan (Kayla) Ortlip, Chad Ortlip, Lindsay (Nick) Neutkens and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Isabel; brothers, Richard and Robert; sister, Doris; son, Patrick G. Fourniea; grandson, Andrew Fourniea; and great-grandson, Phoenix Bennett Hanzlik May his quiet peaceful spirit continue to shine bright in our hearts. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, June 27th 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church 9900 Lyndale Ave. So. Bloomington. Visitation 45 minutes prior to mass. Reception to follow. Interment Ft.
