Grover, Brian J. age 71, of Oracle, Arizona, formerly of St. Louis Park. Brian died suddenly, June 5, 2024, in Oracle. Brian had a long and successful career as an executive in the retail business, taking him from his Minnesota home to Colorado, New Jersey, Wisconsin and, ultimately, retirement in Arizona. He never forgot his St. Louis Park roots and the work ethic forged in his hometown community. Brian was a standout football player for St. Louis Park High School and inducted into the St. Louis Park Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009. He later quarterbacked the University of North Dakota to an NCC title and NCAA Division II playoff appearance in 1975. He and his teammates were inducted into the UND Letterwinners Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005. Brian spent one season playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers during their 1970s dynasty. His greatest accomplishments came as a dad, papa and family member. Brian was born to Charles and Frances Grover in 1953 and is preceded in death by his parents, as well as two grandchildren, Brielle and Jordan Grover. He is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Cyndie; daughter, Brooke (Brian); son Blair (Lindsey); siblings Chuck (Alyce), Jeff (Kathy), Darryl (Victoria), and Kim (Randy) McGregor; sister-in-law RaeAnn (Steve) Fornell; brother-in-law Rick (Chris) Haun; grandchildren Sydney, Tyson, Briggs and Jordi; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private burial will be held, but all who want to remember Brian and celebrate his life are invited to a casual, outdoor memorial service from 5:30 to 8 p.m., July 8, at St. Louis Park Rec Center, 3700 Monterey Drive. Light dinner and drinks will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of North Dakota Foundation.
