1941-2024

83 Years Old, Brooklyn Center - Marie "Joan" Marchione, wife of the late Pingree "Pinky" Marchione passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was born on her family potato farm in Limestone, Maine on June 17, 1941, the daughter of Randolph and Annie Turcotte. Joan enjoyed being the baby sister of her 12 siblings. She married Pinky on November 17, 1958, after meeting him at 17 years old at the town carnival. It was immediate love. They enjoyed 39 years of marriage until his death on December 17, 1997. She and Pinky enjoyed living on the Air Force bases in Maine, Mississippi and Texas where they met many friends and started having their children Anthony and Thomas. After Pinky's time of service ended, they moved to Michigan where they purchased their first home and had their daughter Ann. Pinky's father owned a pro-bowling shop and a bowling alley where Joan and Pinky found their love of bowling. They were both extremely good. They knew many Pro-bowlers and were involved in the annual Pinky's Pro-Am Pro-Bowling Banquet named after his father. Joan and Pinky loved taking road trips to Maine and many other states to visit family with their children. She especially loved going back home to her family farm. She could never resist a fried clam or a lobster straight from the ocean. After Pinky passed, she retired from her cooking and baking career of 25 years and began new travels with friends to new states and even took a cruise for the first time. She loved it. She also loved living these last three years with her sister Jeannette at The Crossings in Brooklyn Center where she made such great friends and was involved in so many of the resident activities. In addition to her parents, Randolph and Annie and loving in-laws, Pingree Sr. and Marie Marchione, she is predeceased by her husband; four brothers, Romeo, Orel, Fred, Rene and Rudolph Turcotte; four sisters, Mary Saucier, Loretta Theriault, Mabel Theriault, Edwina Clavey and "baby girl" Turcotte.
