Wagar, Jean Marie age 97 of Fridley, MN passed on 6/23/24 in the presence of family members at Brightondale, New Brighton, Mn. Jean was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota, to Walter and Goldie Wilson on December 14, 1926, joining her beloved sister Frances. The family lived in York, North Dakota and Jean remained passionately devoted to her upbringing on the prairie her entire life. Jean was preceded by loving husband Harvey, son Tim, son-in-law Greg Gilreath. Survived by son Ron and Kathy, daughter Gayle, daughter-in-law Kathy Jo Wagar, Grandchildren Matthew Wagar, Andrew Wagar, Gracia Gilreath. Jean lived in Fridley for 58 years, where she and Harv raised their family and made many lifelong friends. Jean was active in the community as a faithful member of Fridley United Methodist Church and volunteering over 6,000 hours at Unity Hospital. Her family is grateful to her McDonald's girls and many other friends who brought her so much joy and to the kindhearted care team at Brightondale. Jean was vibrant and funny, and always made you laugh with her quick quips and antics. She will be lovingly remembered for these things when reminiscing about Gramma Jean. Memorial will be held on Saturday, July 20 at Fridley United Methodist Church. 10 am Visitation. 11 am Service. Arrangements by Miller.
