McKinley-Larabee, Monica Monica passed away peacefully in Edina, Minnesota at the age of 78 with her children at her side. Born to Michael and Mary Agnes "Maura" Kyne (nee Lynch), she grew up in Swanlinbar, County Cavan, Ireland, the youngest of eight children. Her life was defined by love, dedication, and service. Her path led her across borders and continents. In her youth, she crossed into Northern Ireland daily to attend the Carroo school, where her mother was a teacher. After graduating from The Loreto School in Omagh, she ventured to Madrid, Spain, to teach English. Eventually, Monica settled in Neenah, Wisconsin, where she met the love of her life, Tom Larabee. Over 32 years, they created countless memories traveling the world and cherishing their time at the cottage on Silver Lake where they warmly hosted family and friends. With hard work and dedication, Monica built a successful career in real estate, retiring with Coldwell Banker after more than 35 years. You knew it was Monica driving around by her "MIRISH" license plate. She truly loved Neenah and easily made friends of everyone she met. Monica loved a great walk and was so grateful for her Walkie-Talkies group that became a life force after Tom passed. Gardening brought her immense joy, and she was known for her avid reading and boundless curiosity. Monica's selflessness touched so many lives. She volunteered with Rotary, Kiwanis, Meals on Wheels, and the Neenah Historical Society. Grateful for the support she received during challenging times, she dedicated herself to paying it forward throughout her life. Monica quietly extended incredible generosity to families in need, anonymously providing clothing, food, and financial assistance. She leaves behind a legacy of true empathy and kindness. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family and celebrating their milestones. Monica loved so deeply and generously. We will forever miss our mother and the life example she set. Monica is survived by her children Roisin and Gary Laskin (Edina, MN), Eian and Jennifer McKinley (Castle Rock, CO), Kevin and Elaine Larabee (Eden Prairie, MN) and Kelly Larabee and Bill Morlan (Phoenix, AZ). Her grandchildren Max and George Laskin, Kyra, Seth, Maya and Levi McKinley, Andrea and Joey Larabee and Adelaide and Oliver Morlan. Siblings Larry Kyne (Ireland), Raymond Kyne (Ireland) and Clare Kyne (England). Many nieces and nephews in Ireland, England and Portugal. She leaves behind a group of friends she loved like family. Monica is preceded in death by her husband Tom Larabee, her parents Michael and Maura Kyne, siblings Desmond Kyne, Val Kyne, Ciaran Kyne and Brendan Kyne. Our family extends special thanks to the Hospice of the Midwest, her beloved caregivers at the Waters of Edina who always knew when she needed a little extra love, and her dedicated weekly caregivers who provided unwavering support and affection. We are also deeply grateful to her Fox Cities friends who supported our mom over the years, allowing her to remain in Neenah longer than would have been otherwise possible. Monica will return home to Ireland and be laid to rest with her family in the Ardcarne Cemetery, County Roscommon. Please share in one last toast to this beautiful Irish lady "May joy and peace surround you, contentment latch your door. And happiness be with you now and bless you evermore" Slainte! Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
