Sullivan, Austin, III "Pat" 53, died unexpectedly at his home on June 28, 2024. He was born on June 1, 1971, in Washington, D.C., the son of Austin P. Sullivan, Jr. and Judith Raab Sullivan. The family moved to Minnesota when Pat was 5 years old, and he has lived there ever since. Pat was universally liked and loved. He was a kind and gentle man. He had a huge intellect and was a good listener, with keen insights and deep understanding of all who came within his orbit. If you knew him, he became interested in you and your family. There are countless stories of the extent to which he'd go to help a friend or a friend's child - a task to which he brought a keen strategic mind, pragmatism, and impressive communication skills. His network of friends and other connections was extensive; all are stunned and incredibly sad that he is no longer in their lives. Pat was predeceased by his mother, Judy, who died in 1995, and his stepmother, Doll, who died in 2007. He is survived by his father, Austin P. Sullivan, Jr. (Marti), his son, Jered Everson, his sister, Amanda Pagano (Peter), his brother, Alexander Sullivan (Naamua), his stepsisters, Lauren Messner (George), Georgia Gibbons and Frances Radosevich (Joseph), and his stepbrothers, Sam Gibbons and Hunter Atkins (Lana). He is also survived by his adoring nephews and nieces, Henry and Van Pagano, Alisdair and Whitsun Sullivan, George, Frederick, Marie-Élise and Jack Messner, and Joseph and Hugo Radosevich. He loved sports, especially hockey, and was, himself, an extraordinarily gifted athlete, as anyone who competed with him in hockey or tennis - any sport really (except golf!) - can attest. He was a graduate of the Salisbury School in Lakeville CT and St. Lawrence University where, unsurprisingly, he played Division 1 hockey. He was a loyal friend, son, brother and uncle, and a non- judgmental lover of people. His sudden departure leaves a gaping hole in our hearts. A memorial service and celebration of his life will take place in August, the details of which will be shared as plans solidify. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery will be private.
