Claudia C. Olson

Olson, Claudia C. of Battle Lake MN, passed away at Mayo Hospital in Phoenix AZ on March 29, 2011. She suffered from pulmonary hypertension for several years. Preceded in death by her parents, Norwood and Ruth Canfield, and by granddaughter Kirsten Ploof. Survived by husband, Kent Olson; daughter, Cherie Ploof; stepdaughter Susan Olson (Bill Hughes); stepson, Tedd Olson; grandchildren, Dan, Matthew, Joel, Alyssa Ploof, Nicholas and Emily Hughes; great-granddaughter Angel Ploof;, sister Margaret Amundson (Jim) and brother, Dick Canfield (Joanne). Claudia graduated from Minneapolis Roosevelt High School in 1956. She worked for several years for both Prudential Life Insurance and the Green Giant Company. She moved to Battle Lake with her husband after they retired and found a "second home" of friends. She enjoyed knitting with her many friends until health issues prevented her from doing so. Memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Landscape arboretum in Chanhassen or the Good Samaritan Society in Battle Lake. A June memorial service is planned.
