Alli (Williams) Zomer

Zomer, Alli (Williams) Alli died on July 3, 2024. She is survived by her children, Charlie and June, her husband, Pat, her sister and brother-in-law Angie Williams and Seth Heimermann and her parents, Steve and Priscilla Williams. She was preceded in death by siblings Craig Williams and Amy Williams. Alli was a force to be reckoned with. Her friends, family, co-workers, and strangers all felt it: every interaction with Alli was infused with energy and passion. This often manifested as Alli pushing those around her to do their best, demanding all of us live up to the same standard to which she held herself. That meant everything was better when Alli was involved. We all worked harder, played harder, and loved more with Alli because she knew we could and expected nothing less. Alli was an outstanding student- athlete, playing soccer and running track at Edina High School, captaining both teams. She continued running track at Middlebury College (also serving as a captain), and running and soccer remained lifelong passions. As recently as May, Alli organized and participated in a mother-daughter soccer clinic with June and several friends despite being in the advanced stages of breast cancer. It was one of countless acts Alli performed for the benefit of others, with that particular one also being a manifestation of her will and determination. It was Alli's will and determination that allowed her to thrive during the six and a half years after her cancer diagnosis. She continued to work, taking over leadership of Especially for Children with Angie in 2018 following Steve's and Priscilla's retirement. She raised two amazing children. She traveled, cooked wonderful (and healthy) meals, worked in the yard, and took hikes at the cabin. She was there for friends and family when needed. Cancer ultimately caused her death, but she was resolved that it not destroy her life. And, true to form, she made it so. Alli is no longer with us physically, but she remains present through all who knew her. Charlie's leadership, June's strong will, Pat's enduring love, and Angie's dedication are manifestations of Alli that will endure. She gave all of us so much, and in doing so she will remain with us forever. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at Interlachen Country Club. The family will receive guests at 1:00 pm, with a service at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow. A private interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an organization helping address social justice, hunger, or sustainability - all issues Alli cared about deeply. Examples include West Broadway Business & Area Coalition (westbroadway.org/) and World Central Kitchen (wck.org/). Washburn-McReavy.com Edina Chapel 952-920-3996
