Officials on Monday identified the man who was hit by an SUV and killed while crossing a west metro highway.

Volodymyr Pernerovsky, 70, of Minneapolis, suffered fatal injuries about 8:20 p.m. Saturday along eastbound Hwy. 55 at South Shore Drive in Plymouth, the State Patrol said.

Pernerovsky was believed to have been drinking shortly before he was struck and was not in the crosswalk at the time, according to Plymouth police.

The SUV’s driver, Dawn Marie Tomlinson, 68, of Eagan, and her passenger were not hurt, the patrol said.
