Owl City: His homecoming hootenanny at the State Theatre
Adam Young wasn't as exciting this time around as he was last year when "Fireflies" made him an overnight sensation.

Adam Young, a k a Owl City, was more exciting at the Cabooze in September and at Xcel Energy Center in December (as part of Jingle Ball in front of a huge, hyped-up crowd). He just seemed to be on autopilot on Saturday afternoon at the soldout State Theatre. (Read full review.) Maybe it was the rare afternoon time. Maybe he's bored. Maybe he's ready to move on to new material. Maybe he's tired. It's impossible to prepare for sudden stardom. The guy gave his first concert ever – of any kind – in the winter of 2009. Now, he's headlining in theaters. That's a huge jump in a short period of time. Word is that Owl City will have a new album in the fall. But the group played old material, including almost all the songs from last year's best-selling "Ocean Eyes." Here is the set list from the first show: Bird and the Worm/ Air Traffic/ On the Wing/ Hot Air Balloon/ Dear Vienna/ Fuzzy Blue Lights/ Cave In/ This Is the Future/ Dental Care/ Saltwater Room/ Technicolor Phase/ Fireflies/ Meteor Shower/ Vanilla Twilight/ Tip of the Iceberg ENCORE Hello Seattle Does anyone have a report on Owl City's evening show?
