Here's what I can tell you about the Vikings-Bears game on Monday night at TCF Bank Stadium: It's going to be played at TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus. Unless it's not.
I'm not trying to be a smart aleck but at this point that's what we know. Lester Bagley, Vikings vice president of public affairs and stadium development, confirmed the game will be played at TCF "barring unforseen issues." But the key question here is what are the potential unforseen issues?
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier mentioned today in his news conference that there is an internal deadline for a decision to be made one way or the other. There have been denials about such a deadline but Frazier would have no reason to lie about the issue and common sense says there has to be a deadline for a decision to be made about whether this game is in Minneapolis, Atlanta or Indianapolis.
I'm told we're going to get information on tickets for Monday's game this afternoon -- keep in mind, TCF seats about 50,000 and the Metrodome seats about 13,000 more. At least then confused fans -- or at least those whose tickets grant them access -- can begin making plans for attending Monday's game.
