Two robberies. Two victims. One set of suspects.
Police search for suspects in two Mankato robberies
Robberies might be related, police say.
That's the theory Mankato police are looking at after two victims were assaulted and robbed in separate incidents early Sunday morning, said officer Matt DuRose.
In the first robbery reported at about 3:15 a.m., three white men got out of a 1990s white Chevy minivan and approached the 29-year-old victim as he walked in the 100 block of W. Vine Street. The suspects knocked the victim to the ground, kicked him and took cash he had in his pockets. The culprits then fled in the minivan, DuRose said.
The victim suffered a minor head injury and was treated on the scene by Mankato Fire and Rescue, and released.
About 75 minutes later, three men approached a 26-year-old man in the 900 block of Madison Avenue. They assaulted the man, knocked him to the ground and stole his wallet. The suspects fled on foot, DuRose said.
The victim in the second robbery was able to give police a description of one of the suspects: A white male in his 20s who was wearing a Carhartt-style jacket and a dark stocking cap. The victim did not require medical attention.
No weapons were displayed in either attack, DuRose said.
