Big Lake and Metro Transit police are looking for suspects after a Northstar commuter train was vandalized earlier this week.

Authorities say somebody sprayed graffiti on a train parked outside a Metro Transit service facility at County Road 43 and Hwy. 10 in Big Lake.

The vandalism — graffiti covering the bottom half of the passenger train cars — was discovered early Monday by a Metro Transit employee.

A witness saw suspicious activity in the area and told police about a pickup truck with a Texas registration.

On Friday, police released grainy photos of the possible suspects that were taken from surveillance footage.

The trains were cleaned and returned to service Tuesday. There was no permanent damage, said spokesman Drew Kerr.

Anybody with information is asked to call Big Lake Police at 763-263-2500.
