The Northern Lights Express, the proposed passenger rail line from Minneapolis to Duluth, unveiled its new logo Monday. The alliance driving this train hopes its next stop is marked by a $1.1 million federal grant.

The Minneapolis-Duluth/Superior Passenger Rail Alliance, which has state and county funding to match a federal grant, is seeking the funding to pay for a $2.2 million environmental study for the line. The alliance is seeking an additional $3.9 million from Congress for engineering and other project needs.
