Q: You're a vintage motorcycle aficionado. What do you ride?
A: Mainly early-'70s European bikes. My collection includes Moto Guzzi, Triumph, Ducati and Honda.
Q: Why vintage motorcycles?
A: The allure and character of older machines ooze quality and class, and are fairly basic machines to maintain if you can source parts, which is always a challenge.
Q: What tips do you have for new collectors?
A: Have your bike inspected by a professional before making a big purchase -- you never know what lurks in some older motors. Often bikes sit for years without being properly serviced and need major work.
Q: Any other hobbies?
A: I've played drums for various local musicians and always get a kick out of performing when I can. I have a deep love for wristwatches -- anything Swiss that's a chronograph. I've also been flying airplanes since the age of 18 and enjoy flying around the Wisconsin and southern Minnesota countryside.
Q: What's your favorite season in Minnesota and why?
A: Fall time is the best time! You can actually wear the leather riding gear and waxed cotton jackets without sweating to death. And, naturally, the fall colors.
