The Twins open a four-game series against Texas (6:40 p.m., BSN) at Target Field, with Kenta Maeda facing Dane Dunning.

Before the game Monday, the Twins sent pitcher Randy Dobnak to the St. Paul Saints and recalled reliever Brandon Waddell.

Dobnak pitched seven games in relief for the Twins and is 0-3 with an 8.16 ERA. In 14⅓ innings he gave up 13 earned runs and gave up four home runs.

Waddell, 26, pitched in two games in April for the Twins. He threw three scoreless innings, giving up five hits and two walks.

The Saints open the season Tuesday night in the first of a six-game series in Omaha, and Dobnak is likely to get a start in that series. He pitched three innings on Saturday in an 11-3 loss to the Royals.

Maeda is 1-2 with a 6.56 ERA and the righthander Dunning is 1-1 with a 3.97 ERA.
