April 7, 2016: Lynch is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an off-campus location. At that time, the accuser does not report to either police or the school.
April 28, 2016: Lynch is accused of sexually assaulting another woman at a campus dorm. That accuser also does not report the incident to either police or the school.
May 8, 2016: Lynch is arrested after then-freshman student Kayla Bollingmo accuses him of sexual assault in his room. He is released two days later and suspended from the team.
Aug. 1, 2016: Hennepin County attorney's prosecutors say Lynch will not be charged, citing a lack of evidence.
Sept. 7, 2016: An investigation by the school's Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action (EOAA) finds that Lynch did not violate the student conduct code in the incident with Bollingmo. Lynch is reinstated to the team and in November starts at center as the Gopher men's basketball team begins the season.
Oct. 2017: The University EOAA begins two separate investigations of Lynch after two women accuse him of sex assaults in the April 7 and April 28, 2016, incidents. Under the school's protocol, the EOAA notifies the athletic department when a student athlete is accused of misconduct.
Nov. 10, 2017: The men's basketball team starts its season, with Lynch again starting at center.
Jan. 4, 2018: The EOAA notifies the accuser from the April 7 incident that Lynch has been found responsible for sexual misconduct, and recommends his expulsion. The EOAA also notifies the accuser from the April 28 incident that Lynch has been found responsible for sexual misconduct, and recommends his suspension.
Jan. 5: Lynch appeals the EOAA findings.
