Call your local police department to see if it has personal safety classes. They may be offered free of charge.

Check your local YWCA or YMCA branches; they often schedule regular self-defense classes.

The American Association of Certified Firearms Instructors, www.aacfi.com, lists locations for gun safety classes.

Check with your college or university's physical education department for scheduled self-defense classes.

Yellow-page directories offer listings for various classes in karate, ju-jitsu, tae kwon do and other martial arts.

Google "self-defense classes" and Minnesota for many other listings.
