The French Open may move to Versailles or Disneyland Paris because of political uncertainty about expansion at Roland Garros, its tournament director said.
Roland Garros may lose French Open
"We are short of space," Gilbert Ysern said in an interview Tuesday. "We strongly believe that if we do not expand our facilities, we could endanger the tournament."
French Open tennis organizers are considering three options on the outskirts of Paris: a site near the Palace of Versailles; a location in Marne-la-Vallee, where Disneyland Paris is based; or Gonesse, which is close to Charles de Gaulle airport.

Big 12 boss wants commitments With speculation swirling about Missouri and Nebraska being targets for possible Big Ten expansion, commissioner Dan Beebe opened the Big 12's spring meetings with a plea for staying together. At the same time, Beebe agreed there was little chance the Big 12's future would be decided before the meetings adjourn on Friday afternoon. No decision by Missouri, Nebraska or anybody else about leaving the conference is expected for several months. He said he hopes to get long-term commitments from his members before the meetings close Friday. "I don't know if that's realistic," he said.
MARATHON
69-year-old runner took short cut A 69-year-old man who was credited with running the London Marathon in a record time for his age group has been disqualified for taking a 10-mile shortcut. Questions were raised after Anthony Gaskell finished the April 25 race in 3 hours, 5 minutes, the fastest ever for the over-65 age group. Gaskell said he dropped out in the middle of the race because of injury and walked to the finish, cutting out part of the course. He said he never claimed to have won the age-group race and didn't check the results on the website.
Marathon organizers confirmed that Gaskell had been disqualified and 66-year-old Colin Rathbone declared the over-65 winner. Rathbone finished 38 seconds behind Gaskell.
