Roseville woman killed in Inver Grove Heights crash; suspect held
Inver Grove Heights police reported that 21-year-old Nicholas Anthony Indehar was being held in the Dakota County jail on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide, drunken driving, careless and reckless driving, running a stop sign and driving with a revoked driver's license.
The 42-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, was trapped in her vehicle. She died at the intersection of Dawn Avenue and 70th Street in Inver Grove Heights, where the crash happened about 3 p.m.
Indehar — identified as the driver of the other vehicle — was helped out of his vehicle by bystanders, police said. He was treated for minor injuries at Regions Hospital in St. Paul and then jailed.
His driving record shows multiple traffic violations, including a DWI conviction.
When officers arrived, they found the victim's minivan crashed against a utility pole on the northwest side of the intersection with live electrical wires draped over it. Indehar's car was nearby.
The crash is being investigated by Inver Grove Heights police, the State Patrol and the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.
