COLUMBUS, OHIO – Sophomore forward Sarah Potomak had a hat trick as the No. 2 Gophers edged Ohio State 3-2 on Friday night in WCHA women's hockey.

Potomak's third goal came with 4 minutes, 36 seconds to play and broke a 2-all tie. It was her seventh goal of the season and fourth game-winner.
The Buckeyes, who have a 41-game winless streak (0-39-2) vs. the Gophers, took a 1-0 lead on Jacyn Reeves' goal with 25 seconds left in the first period. Potomak scored twice in the second, at 3:46 and 11:04, to give the Gophers a 2-1 lead.
Ohio State tied it 2-2 on Maddy Field's goal 2:53 into the third period.
Sidney Peters had 15 saves for the Gophers (7-1, 5-1 WCHA). Kassidy Sauve had 24 for the Buckeyes (3-4-1, 1-4-1), who went 0-6 vs. the Gophers last year.
Gophers coach Brad Frost (299-46-22) is within one victory of 300 for his career.
