Scrapbooking day Saturday at armory

The White Bear Lake Area Historical Society is calling all scrapbookers to gather for its Quarterly Crop from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at the White Bear Lake Armory, 2228 4th St.

The registration fee is $30 for historical society members and $35 for non-members. Call 651-407-5327.

Teens perform at St. Andrew's St. Andrew's Lutheran Church will kick off the winter portion of its 2010-11 music series with the Senior High Choir's Dessert Theater. Performances are set for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

OAKDALE

Spring break, Minnesota-style Strap on some snowshoes and tromp through the snow at the Oakdale Discovery Center, then get warm sipping hot chocolate around a bonfire.

The occasion is the Snowshoe and Bonfire Cookout from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 4444 Hadley Av. N. Cost is $10 per person or $35 for a family of four. Call 651-747-3860.

Mardi Gras party at Withrow The New Riverside Ramblers and the Faux Playboys will supply the tunes for a Mardi Gras music and dance party Saturday at the Withrow Ballroom and Event Center, 12169 Keystone Av. N.

Cajun and zydeco dance lessons will be offered at 6:30 p.m., with the bands taking the stage at 7 p.m. The evening will include a "Taste of Louisiana" buffet. Tickets are $18 or $14 for Krewe de Walleye members. Call 651-493-5123.
