A video that either represents the world's discoloring effect on women everywhere or just a very weird day at a high-school art class, the new clip for one of Poliça's most hypnotic songs, "Wandering Star," debuted today on Pitchfork.com.

Once again, the band is nowhere to be seen in the clip. That was also the case with its prior video for "Amongster." Personally, I'd rather watch footage of "Wandering Star" performed live in the Current studio. Funny: Poliça's first video (for "Lay Your Cards Out") was essentially just four minutes of singer Channy Leaneagh dancing on screen in a whirly, Xanadu-looking silhouette. Maybe the twains can meet more in the middle for the next one.

Music fans will have plenty opportunity to see Poliça live and unpainted between now and year's end. The band just announced a fall headlining tour around a string of new festival dates, including Austin City Limits Festival and Atlanta's Counterpoint Fest. That's in addition to its summer gigs at the River's Edge Fest on Harriet Island on June 23 and Lollapalooza in Chicago on Aug. 5, plus its half-dozen July dates opening for Bon Iver in Europe. So yeah, things continue to look up for the local kids. Don't expect another hometown gig announcement until after River's Edge.
