You loved Mary Logue's "Giving Up the Ghost," which the Star Tribune serialized over the summer of 2013. You were thrilled by Cary J. Griffiths' "Savage Minnesota," which we serialized last year. And you were head over heels over Megan Marsnik's "Under Ground," her novel about labor strife on the Iron Range which ran this summer.

Could your book be next?

We're looking for unpublished (either print or digitally) manuscripts to consider for next summer's serial. We prefer, but do not require, a Minnesota setting and a Minnesota author.

We cannot read a slew of entire books (nor can we acknowledge submissions), so let's start with the first chapter only. If we like it, we'll ask for more. Send us Chapter One by emailing books@startribune.com. We'll accept entries through Oct. 31.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
