May 25, 2012 at 2:20AM

A memorial service will be held Wednesday for Brooklyn Park City Council Member Jeanette Meyer, who died last weekend.

The service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Edinburgh USA Clubhouse, 8700 Edinbrook Crossing, Brooklyn Park.

Meyer's lung cancer was diagnosed in March; she died Sunday at her home. She was 58.

She lived 35 years in Brooklyn Park, working as an accountant and business consultant. She first was elected to the council in 1998, representing the West District; voters gave her a fourth term in 2010.

The city will hold a special election to fill the remaining 2 1/2 years of her term, on Aug. 14, the same day as the regular city primary election.
